This meme is hilarious and so true for many who venture out into the world of DeFi (decentralized finance) where hype and rugs rule. I define "hype" as a type of fomo (fear of missing out); this is where you have a few friends that heard from a friend's friend's mom's ex-boyfriend that this new token launch is going to be AMAZING! You get the deets (details) to include: contract address, chain, launch time, taxes, etc (all crypto leet speak).

You decide to jump in on that day so set your wallet up with the appropriate crypto (i.e., Ethereum, BNB, Solana, etc.) and you are so ready, bruv. The day comes and there is a giant green candle that instills in you the feeling of hype and fomo. You are on the DEX (decentralized exchange) and trying your hardest to buy in (swap your eth, sol, bnb for whatever token this is) and you keep getting failed transactions because you are not the only one feeling the hype / fomo and attempting to join in. You raise your slippage (percent you are willing to lose to allow the transaction to go through) one last time and BOOOOOM! You get your tokens and you are so happy. You join the Telegram group and follow their Twitter (X). You are so hyped that you are tweeting like a madman!!

The green candle gets larger and larger, fomo is everywhere and you are so happy that you begin to celebrate. Maybe, you decide to buy more tokens to "support the chart" and the other chads in the chat who are just as excited as you.

Eventually, that green candle starts getting obliterated by massive sells. You see early buyers start to full stack (empty all tokens from their wallet in one transaction) dumping for massive profits while you witness your own profits begin to dwindle.

That fomo feeling is beginning to be replaced by fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD); "should I sell my initials and remove the risk?" You are quietly asking yourself. You start to see fudding in the the chat. Fudding is expressing to everyone that you feel fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Those voices are being muted and/or kicked from the chat because you must never fud your own bag. The moderators are still so hype but you begin to realize that this token might not be the best thing since sliced bread and world hunger will not be conquered today, in fact, you will probably go hungry this day.

Your "paper" gains have now become paper losses and your tokens are now worth less than when you fomoed in. What to do, what to do?
